5 Truths from Genesis 1 to live with God-given purpose every day
On Sunday, we continued our series in Genesis (Beginning & Blessing), and Andy reminded us of these truths found in Genesis 1. We encourage you to take a moment and consider the responses and how you can apply these truths to live with God-given purpose every day. You can listen to the sermon here.
1. God is near
Response: Father, thank You that You are not distant or disconnected. You are present, involved, and attentive to every detail of my life. Help me to live aware of Your nearness, to find rest in Your presence and to grow in awareness of where You are at work.
2. God created the place where I live
Response: God, You formed the earth with care and intention—including the place where I live. Help me to see my surroundings not as random, but as part of Your design. What would it look like for me to steward the area where I live with gratitude and purpose?
3. God has made me and everyone I meet in His image
Response: Lord, you have made every person with worth and dignity - help me to treat others in this way and to see them as You do.
4. God has called me to represent Him
Response: Father, thank You that I don’t have to perform or find my worth in other things or people. May my words, actions, and decisions point others to You. Give me the courage to live with integrity as Your representative in this world.
5. God has prepared a place for me to enjoy him forever
Response: "Man’s chief end is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever." Lord, thank You that my story doesn’t end here. You’ve prepared eternity for me with You. Let that hope shape the way I live today—with joy, peace, and purpose.
